UVAS Alumni Association holds its 10th annual reunion

The Alumni Association of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore arranged its 10th annual reunion at Akram Complex of Ravi Campus Pattoki.

Former Governor Punjab Lieutenant General (retd) Khalid Maqbool and Former Secretary Livestock and Dairy Development Department Punjab Mr Akhlaq Ahmad Tarar co-chaired the reunion function while Former UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Manzoor Qureshi and a large numbers of alumni from across Pakistan and AJK participated. In which drama & cultural performance, alumni member visits of different departments of Ravi campus, Music gala, rifle shooting and archery contests featured the event. Khalid Maqbool and Akhlaq Ahmad Tarar also planted saplings in front of Akram Complex.

Speaking on the occasion, Khalid Maqbool said that progress of our country lies in exports and he emphasized on the value edition of poultry meat and dairy products to enhance the export of Pakistan towards international markets for the uplift of national economy. He said that a large number of stakeholders, students, researchers and farmers not only from Punjab but also from all over the Pakistan getting maximum benefits from UVAS by getting its quality of education and research for the uplift of farming community and livestock sector.

He said UVAS play a vital role for the uplift poultry & dairy industry and national economy of Pakistan. He said UVAS flourishing day by day with state of the art laboratories and infrastructure development for practical work of their students.

Akhlaq Ahmad Tarar shared his past memories and struggle for the establishment of UVAS. He said that I really feel glad to see the facilities of UVAS especially its Ravi Campus Pattoki equipped with state of the art facilities and infrastructure. He acknowledged the role of UVAS especially for the treatment of animals. He said he feel proud to know about the achievements of UVAS not only in the curricular activities through its quality of education even in the sports activities as well. He thanked UVAS for selecting him as a life time alumnus.

In his address, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha listed the curricular and extra-curricular achievements, infrastructure development, trainings, international conferences & congress of the UVAS and its development projects and clinical and advisory services for the benefit of poor farming community.
