Live interactive demo on DaVinci Surgical System
Technology Times.pk Pakistan and Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology (ZAST), China organized a live-stream A/V Program on DaVinci System – Robotics in Operating Room in University of Lahore on March 19, 2019. It was live surgery of Prostate Cancer from the Zhejiang Provincial People’s Hospital performed by Prof. Dahong Zhang.
Prof. Dahong Zhang was graduated from Zhejiang University School of Medicine in 1990, he received his training in urology in Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital of Zhejiang University. In 2007, he became head of urology department of Zhejiang Provincial People’s Hospital.
Objective of this kind of activity is to enhance Belt & Road Science & Cultural Project for Sharing, and advancing science and technology. It is the need of time to realize the challenges facing its set objectives as information is expected to be ever more prevalent as societies engaging themselves more and more into digital technologies.
Like, the DaVinci Surgical system, there are several such systems being developed today by different countries: such as: The United State, Germany, China, France and Russia. Currently, DaVinci is the most used one in operating rooms in hospitals throughout the world.
Different robotics systems are developed to service special operation procedures for the best anticipated surgeries procedures they are designed for.
As a result, in the near future surgeons will be able to work with more sophisticated, highly versatile and intelligent machines which will augment their existing professional knowledge-base and surgical skills.
This workshop is highly appreciated by the participants and encourages Technology Times for introducing DaVinci System to students for their learning.
