Pakistan’s agriculture sector is a major part in the nation’s economy. Keeping in line, the imports of agri-machinery grew by 4.21 percent during the current monetary year as compared to the previous year.
Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) generated report that during the period from July-February, 2018-2019, agriculture machinery worth US$ 89.698 million imported as compared the imports of US$ 86.078 million of same period last year.
Meanwhile, imports of agriculture chemicals grew by 3.81 percent, fertilizers 14.01 percent insecticides 11.27 percent and medical products by 10.51 percent, it added.
During last eight months of current economic year, agricultural and other chemicals worth US$5887 billion imported as compared US$ 5.862 billion of same period last year.
However, on monthly basis, during February, 2019 imports of agriculture machinery into the country abridged by 5.88 percent as agriculture machinery worth US$ 11.774 million imported as compared the import of US$ 12.510 million of identical month of preceding year.
