Food is an imperative component and the safety of good health is the key to achieve several sustainable development goals (SDGs). Considering this on every year’s June World Food Day is celebrated. This year’s theme is “Food Safety, everyone’s business“.
To promote this sustainable goal, Nestle Pakistan celebrated ‘World Food Safety Day’ at Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR), Lahore to elevate awareness on ‘food safety’.
The day is marked in collaboration with Pakistan Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (PCSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, Punjab Food Authority (PFA), University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF), University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore (UVAS) and Pakistan Society of Food Scientists and Technologists (PSFST).
The event aimed to highlight the need for food safety regulation in Pakistan to make sure food quality standards which protect the health of consumers.
For the betterment of country everyone is responsible to play their role in harmonizing food safety rules regarding scientific principles. To excel worldwide the first thing is to have a healthier nation and it can only be done by collaborating with each other by lessening the food borne diseases nationally.
