Pakistan Council for Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) mentioned that all Pakistan bottled water companies are selling “artificial” water instead of natural water.

The head of PCRWR Chairman Dr Mohammad Aslam Tahir told a parliamentary committee that “No other country allows bottled water companies to sell artificial water to its people.”

Considering the water quality and management Science and Technology Secretary retired Capt Nasim Nawaz remarked that bottled water companies had played it smart by not calling their products mineral water.

Science and Technology (S&T) Minister Fawad Chaudhry told the committee that the government is spending $800 million, or 1.4 per cent of the GDP, to treat patients of waterborne diseases.

Both the Science and Technology minister and the PCRWR chairman urged the committee to recommend greater funding for quality water research.

PCRWR Chairman Dr Tahir told committee members that he did not get any research funding in the 2018-2019 budget, and “we did not get any budget for research in this financial year either.”

As drinking impure water experienced many water borne diseases.
Young children are especially likely to get sick from certain kinds of water pollution. So its the alarming concern to combat the unclean water by proper research and implementation.
