Huawei’s CEO Ren Zhengfei said “Chinese tech giant Huawei is agree to give approval for authorization of its 5G technology to a U.S. company to produce a level playing field for competitors”.

He said a US company is better because Huawei already has competitors like Nokia Oyj and Ericsson AB from Europe. The Chinese manufacturer will have about 600,000 5G base stations in the end of this year. Next year, the company will build 1.5 million base stations and it does not need American components to achieve that.
