Dr Arif Alvi praise Balochistan govt. to strengthen livestock sector

Government of Balochistan organizing a three-day international Livestock Expo 2019 from 18 – 20 November at the University of Balochistan (UoB), Quetta with an aim to promote cattle farming in the province.

Balochistan Governor Amanullah Khan Yasinzai, Provincial Ministers, Members of Provincial Assembly, Commander Southern Commandant Lieutenant General Waseem Ashraf, officers of various national and international companies and a large number of people were present at the Expo.

Delegates of researchers, farmers, academia and businessmen from various countries including Iran, china, Afghanistan and Turkey participating in the Livestock Expo 2019.

The president Dr Arif Alvi praised the Balochistan government for efforts to strengthen the livestock sector during his address.

He said that livestock is a comprehensive field that contributes to nutrition, poverty alleviation, rural development and overall economic growth.

He added that Balochistan is quite rich in resources including mining, coast, fishing and livestock and Pakistan can export livestock after meeting its domestic needs.

He further said that the world is seeing Pakistan as a lucrative place to do business. He said that Pakistan is at the birth of a new era in respect of economic development.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Jam Kamal Khan said that this confidence of local and foreign investors would be enhanced by this Expo 2019 which was successfully organized for the first time in Balochistan in order to highlight opportunities of Livestock.

He further said the overall economic growth of Balochistan would improve and the Livestock sector had essential to meet the requirement of Halal meat for International Market.

The chief minister informed that majority of people rely on Livestock and agriculture sectors in the province and it was a positive sign that we were working in the fields which were directly related to people of Balochistan.

Local and multinational companies were taking interest to invest in Balochistan in various sectors as compare to in the past.

President Dr Arif Alvi along with Balochsitan Governor and Chief Minister inspected the various stalls at Livestock Expo 2019.
