Hubco is the first and largest Independent Power Producer (IPP) in the country with a combined installed power generation capacity of 2920 MW. It is first lending in Pakistan by 15 onshore and 43 offshore bank.

Officials said in a statement that the project will largely focus on recycling 50 million gallons of domestic effluent water a day for industrial consumption with the use of reverse osmosis process to make certain consistent output quality.

HUBCO has submitted draft proposals to the Sindh government, and the subsequent bidding for the recycling project is likely to commence soon.

Suleman Chawla said that SITE industrial area is dominated by textile sector, which is the backbone of the country’s exports.

He added that the production and growth of the industry is delayed due to the current shortage and unreliable supply of water in the city as the production is heavily dependent on water.

As a result, the exports and economy of Pakistan is adversely affected. Non availability of water is a major barrier for the industrial growth in SITE industrial area. In addition, such projects would also have a positive environmental impact.
