Online-Distance-Learning-program-launched-by-UET.

The University of Engineering and Technology has launched an Online Distance Learning program for final year students.

The administration of the institute has issued several notifications regarding Online Distance Learning (ODL) program. These include ODL policy guidelines, ODL quality assurance, and ODL academic committee. The ODL policies for course readiness, teacher training, and the timeline for lectures, labs, etc. have been devised through a well-defined process. If the university opens in June than it will further conduct its activities on campus.

If university remains closed then assessment criteria and final year projects will be devised according to the direction of the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and the Higher Education Commission. The University will announce policy and timetable for the rest of the undergrad semesters and graduate classes in the wake of getting rules and proposals from HEC and accreditation bodies, for example, PEC, National Computing Education Accreditation Council, and PCATP.

“Rather than situation this change impulsively, as done by several other institutes, at UET we chose to deal with the situation with a proper plan, to be actualized beginning with final semester students,” said Vice-Chancellor. These decisions were taken after looking at all the possibilities and consultation with all the deans, IT professional and teachers. All the decisions taken were made keeping in the recommendations of the Higher Education Commission and Pakistan Engineering Council. The schools associated with the institution have been coordinated to follow the equivalent ODL arrangements.
