Student of Quaid-e-Azam University develops testing kit for Coronavirus

A student from Orakzai tribal district Irfan Hussain has prepared a kit for Coronavirus testing from his own resources which will have the capacity to conduct 20,000 tests on daily basis. He is a student of pharmacy at the Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad.

Student of Quaid-e-Azam University develops testing kit for CoronavirusIrfan Hussain informed that about 20,000 tests of Coronavirus will be conducted with the help of the kit prepared by him. He said a test with his kit will cost less than Rs200.

He further informed that the details of the kit have been shared with the National Institute of Health (NIH) and it is hoped that the kit will get official status soon.

Orakzai tribal district is among such areas of the country which are still very backward and where the British-era laws are still practiced. Although the area on paper is now part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after merger, but practically nothing has changed there are people are still living under the old system. The area was deprived of basic facilities before the merger, and no facility is provided even after the merger.

The people of Orakzai have expressed happiness over development of a kit by a student from the area. They said there is no dearth of talent in Orakzai. They said the government must provide proper opportunities to the people of Orakzai to enable them to excel in various fields and make name for them and the country.
