Operation against locusts continues in affected areas of 40 districts.

Joint teams of the Ministry of National Food Security and Research, Department of Agriculture and Pakistan Army are conducting a comprehensive survey and control operation against locusts in different districts of the country – affected 40 districts. 900 joint teams in the areas are participating in the campaign. So far, 331110 square kilometers (approximately 118 million acres) have been surveyed and 8616 square kilometers (approximately 75).Control operation has been carried out on 2 million acres. In the last 24 hours in Sindh province , 101812 acres were surveyed and operation was carried out in 6 districts (Shaheed Benazirabad, Jamshoro, Sukkur, Sanghar, Khairpur and Nowshero Feroze) on the presence of locusts in 2219 acres. 627 people (including Pakistan Army) and 97 vehicles took part in the survey and control operation .So far 88.1 million acres have been surveyed and operation has been carried out on 101817 acres across the province. The operation was carried out on 2009 acres in the presence of locust heart in Kirk. 985 people (including Pakistan Army) and 129 vehicles took part in the survey and operation . So far 17 across the province.Survey has been done on 10 million acres and operation has been done on 141996 acres.
308583 acres surveyed in last 24 hours in Balochistan province and 26 districts (Khuzdar, Awaran, Noshki, Chaghi, Othal, Ketch, Panjgur, Kharan, Washik, Quetta, Dera Bugti, Harnai, Jhal Magsi, Bolan, Kalat, Qila) Abdullah, Qala Saifullah, Kohlu, Loralai, Mastung, Naseerabad, Pishin, Sherani, Surab, Zob and Ziarat) were operated on 9669 acres in the presence of locusts.1318 people (including Pakistan Army) and 120 vehicles took part in the operation. The survey and is currently in operation hy.kntrul operation has been effective for the prevention of locust 1047176 acres of 3 million acres across the state army in Ziarat district with the help of helicopters and Loralai about “1000 Acres But aerial spraying was also done.
