Role-Of-Physics-In-A-War-Against-Novel-Covid-19

Novel Covid 19 and role of Physics. The thought of a world changed many times in history, but Coronavirus also changed the mind of the globe about life. It is always a big challenge to control any virus.

The epidemic condition of Coronavirus caused to world emergency. The virus is transforming very fast in humans. Needless to say, man has always competed with new infections, spreading like wildfire across populated areas.

In modern eras, the threat of bacterial plagues has been changed by the threat of novel viruses, such as HIV, Influenza, Dengue, Ebola virus, and H1N1 variant behind the “Spanish flu” that killed up to 100 million people a century ago.

Importance of Physics

Physics contributes to the technological framework and playing an important role in modern science and discoveries. It is an essential element which deals with different science branches, like Chemistry, Computer science, and other physical and biomedical research.

Viruses are particularly clever and can sometimes mutate into even more tough shapes. In the disaster, it is also dynamic to have assets in the right places.

To help, we can use different tools for complex networks. Physics is a field that looking forward to recognizing the behaviour of non-trivial methods, often relating complex geographic and social issues.

Role of physics against COVID-19

It is also helping in recognizing the Novel COVID 19. The virus behind COVID-19, this modern Coronavirus disease, is also known as SARS-Cov -2.  To understand SARS-Cov -2, we first need to know about structural biology, the study of the form and function of biological macromolecules.

To achieve biological macromolecule organizations, a scientist or researcher uses X-ray crystallography methods. Many of these researches take place at synchrotrons, large services, or machines that speed up electrons in a continuous ring.

These electron waves are curved by strong magnets to produce high- intensity X- rays. The thin spread of wavelengths makes them perfect for macromolecular crystallography.

This is the crystal structure of Novel Covid 19’s main protease in complex with an inhibitor N3. It was the first time exposed by using X-ray crystallography at the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility in China. There are some pictures of spikes of SARS-Cov -2, which make a “Corona” around the circle. These spikes help the virus to attach into host cells.

We can make a vaccine by understanding these spikes of the virus. Sensational cells to harmless particles with the same exterior structures could help the body build immunity.

Physical Agents

The word “physical agents” mentions to ionizing and non-ionizing electromagnetic radiations, static electric and magnetic fields, ultrasound, laser light, and any other Physical Agent which is used to identify many diseases includes., x-rays in computerized tomography (CT), gamma rays in nuclear medicine, magnetic fields and radio-frequencies in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound in ultrasound imaging.

Physics also supports to recover the quality of our lives through the use of high-tech apparatus, such as particle accelerators, which discover essential application in health care, playing such a key role in improving the diagnosis and treatment of diseases like cancer.

PET imaging is used to identify tumours and monitor the success of treatment performance in cancer patients.

China guidelines in Radiotherapy room

Meanwhile 25 January 2020, the start of the epidemic in China, they applied strict infection preventive measures. China also delivers handling training of COVID‐19 and SARS‐CoV‐2, strict application of protective guidelines, standard office sterilization, and wearing personal protective apparatus. At the right time, they noted every symptoms and improvement of the infected persons.

Steps involved preventing transmission in radiotherapy room

  1. Regularly check the body temperature
  2. Use of basic medical clothing, medical caps, spectacles, surgical masks, and disposable latex gloves must be worn by those who are responsible for disinfection and temperature measurement of patients and family members.
  • Memorandum epidemic history and evaluate certificate of radiotherapy patients and their family members
  1. The strict control of treatment time and treatment interval to prevent patients and their family members from interacting in the treatment area
  2. Anticipation and control of staff in the radiotherapy room
  3. Regularly check the masks of patients and their family members meet necessities.
  • Regularly use of disposable gloves
  • Wear spectacles
  1. Teach patients and other family members not to touch door handles and devices in the curing room.
  2. Make available disposable shoe covers and disposable gloves to patients and their family members.

Scientists are working deeply to understand SARS-CoV-2, the virus behind the COVID-19 pandemic. Many questions still go on. How correctly does it infect humans and transfer between us? Who is most at risk? Can we develop a vaccine and drugs to defend ourselves? Where should we focus our resources? Physics-based technologies playing an important role in solving these questions.
