After the provinces of the country call for the transparency, the PTI-led federal government of Pakistan started real-time monitoring of exploration and production of the gas and oil.

As per the details, the government of Pakistan started to monitor the E&P of oil and gas through a dashboard application provided by a US-based vendor firm.

The petroleum division of the federal ministry of energy on Sunday said that an advanced and innovative dashboard application has been introduced for the effective management and monitoring of Exploration and Production information for the first time in Pakistan in collaboration with a petroleum technology company LMKR.

The petroleum division said that the Exploration Management System (EMS) was a Windows-based, multi-user GIS database application which would enable the Directorate of Petroleum Concession (DGPC) to access and monitor the real-time exploration and production (E&P) data information. In case of reduced production, suspended wells, shut-in wells, and delayed drilling due to the technical or operational issues, this newly installed system help the officers to take the quick actions/decisions to resolve the issues.

It is pertinent to mention here that over the demand made by the provinces, initially by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and followed by other two province Sindh and Balochistan, the Council of Common Interests (CCI) had made a decision back on November 17 to share the real-time data of oil, gas, and power production and consumption with the province of Pakistan.
