A-Helping-Hand-To-Future-Sustainable-Packaging

Only 14% of plastic packaging used is globally recycled. It is to be estimated that in 2050 in place of fishes our oceans are filled with plastics.

The processor must package the product properly after performing preparatory operations of the lot so, more people should be benefited. The product should be packed with care then there is more no product damage remain. Supply chain management is more concerned about sustainability making more profits by lowering packaging costs. The packaging sector represents round about 2% of the gross national product GNP in developed countries. So what would be the next strategy to take to make success in the future?

Only 14% of plastic packaging used is globally recycled. It is to be estimated that in 2050 in place of fishes our oceans are filled with plastics.

The feasibility of the package helps out to keep a balance between the environment and ecology. Feasible packaging follows a 7R strategy. That is remove, reuse, reduce, renew, recycle, revenue, and restore at once.

Materials in use for increasing packaging sustainability:

Paper-based packaging or layered cardboard is ecologically friendly. But it can’t be used for oily or wet food products. So for this purpose, we use sustainable plastic packaging techniques like returnable hard plastic pots. It can minimize CO2 emission in the environment due to plastic degradation. The new technology had developed to recycle plastic which is used as an input for food and beverage industries.

Biodegradable plastics are benefited to the environment. As it is causing less and reduced wastage of food packaging materials. The new concept of oxo-biodegradable plastics plays a major role in the degradation of packaging material. There are some processes to degrade plastic that is called cell-mediated phenomenon. As society being led to believe that this material safely degrades in nature. It’s not so easy because it still releases its tiny plastic molecules in the environment after being degraded.

Factors for feasible packaging design:

1) Use of minimal material of the package

2) Lower mass like the low weight ratio.
