Harry Potter Fans Breaks World Record

the upcoming release of “Quidditch Through the Ages;”  133 households participated in the broom boarding event online, setting the new world record for the most people to board their broomsticks online simultaneously, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.

The publisher said participants logged on from 40 different countries, including Britain, Australia, India, Spain, Canada, France, the Czech Republic, Italy, Japan, Hong Kong, Brazil, South Africa, Oman, the United States and the Philippines.

A representative from Guinness World Records, the famous book for children, was present on the live stream to verify the new record when the 133 participating households all boarded their brooms in the style of Quidditch players from the Harry Potter series.

A spokesperson from Bloomsbury Publishing said: “We’re thrilled that so many people took the time to take part in this successful World Record attempt. It’s wonderful that during this challenging time video sharing platforms allow fans to come together and celebrate in new and unique ways.

“To have so many people from a wide range of countries take to their brooms demonstrates the passion that Harry Potter fans have and the popularity of Quidditch.”

Quidditch Through the Ages Illustrated Edition, written by J.K. Rowling and illustrated by Emily Gravett, is published in hardback on 6th October 2020 by Bloomsbury Publishing, in aid of Comic Relief and Lumos.
