The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has issued a notification to increase the price of electricity for one month.

As per the NEPRA notification, additional collection from consumers will be taken in the context of the November bill, however, the decision will not apply to K-Electric and lifeline consumers.

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has issued a notification to increase the price of electricity for one month.

According to a notification issued by NEPRA, the authority, after incorporating the aforementioned adjustments, has reviewed and assessed an increase of Rs.0.4828/kWh in the applicable tariff for XWDISCOs on account of variations in the fuel charges for the month of August 2020.

The notification said that the fuel cost per unit of electricity production in August was Rs. 3.68 while the advance fuel cost was fixed at Rs. 3.20 per unit in the month of August.

As per the NEPRA notification, additional collection from consumers will be taken in the context of the November bill, however, the decision will not apply to K-Electric and lifeline consumers.

Furthermore, the addition collection shall be shown separately in the consumers’ bills on the basis of units billed to the consumers in the month of August 2020. c. XWDISCOs shall reflect the fuel charges adjustment in respect of August 2020 in the billing month of November 2020.

While effecting the Fuel Adjustment Charges, the concerned XWDISCOs shall keep in view and strictly comply with the orders of the courts notwithstanding this order.
