Since the sanctions on Huawei by the US government, the company is ready to explore multiple unfamiliar territories. The China-based tech firm has reportedly been working with the automaker BAIC to develop a new smart car in the first half of 2021. BAIC is one of the largest Chinese state owned automobile companies and has a huge share in the international automotive market, including Pakistan. Huawei HiCar is planning to partner up with the BAIC Blue Valley, which is the Electric Vehicle (EV) wing of the automotive company which works with multiple car companies of the world including Foton and Mercedes.

With the world moving towards a safe and sustainable future, more automotive companies have invested in the EV research and have been finding news ways of introducing such technology that is not just environment friendly but also efficient.

The report added that Huawei will be working on the research and development activities for the smart car’s software systems, ICT technology, and cloud computing systems where as BAIC will be focused on the designing and engineering of the car.
