Huawei has announced its latest smartwatch, the Watch GT 2 Pro, will be sold in Australia starting Monday.
Promising a premium design, advanced sports tracking, health monitoring, two-week battery life and wireless charging, the new release from Huawei builds on the previous model’s popularity.
The watch face is made from sapphire glass to be more durable and scratch-resistant, while the frame is titanium.
With over 200 watch faces and over 100 workout modes onboard, Huawei’s smartwatch offering is quite competitive against the likes of Samsung and Apple.
There are a couple of new sports modes here too, covering extreme sports, leisure activities, water sports, ball games and snow sports (for those Aussies who live in alpine regions).
In terms of health tracking, there are some improvements to the heart rate tracking technology that we saw last year to provide more accurate readings.
Watch GT 2 Pro supports 24-hour heart rate monitoring, resting heart rate monitoring, abnormal heart rate notifications, scientific sleep tracking, all-day stress monitoring and blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) detection.
“WATCH GT 2 Pro is the most ambitious representative of the Watch GT series,” Larking Huang, Managing Director of Huawei Consumer Business Group in Australia said in a statement to the media on Monday.
“Every aspect [of the watch] was designed and programmed with the highest level of care,” Huang said.
“The highly advanced health modes enable users to track their heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, sleep quality and stress levels. Australians can feel assured that the WATCH GT 2 Pro is the best smartwatch for the job.”
Watch GT 2 Pro is now available online and in store for $499 in Nebula Grey.
You’ll also score a bonus Huawei smart scale if you purchase between now and February 21st, saving you $79.
