Daewoo Express is Working on Introducing Electric Buses in Pakistan

Daewoo Express (Pakistan), Skywell (China), and Hitachi ABB Power Grids (Sweden) signed an MoU to introduce electric buses in Pakistan.

The signing ceremony was held at the Sweden Ambassador’s residence on Thursday where Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said:

My doors are always open to the business community.

When I was in the UK I always lobbied for businessmen and now my doors in Governor House in Lahore are always open for businessmen for discussing any problems they are facing to promote their businesses.

I always lobbied for businessmen because they generate jobs and contribute taxes.

It is said that the MOU was signed for setting up a value chain for electric vehicles and charging infrastructure in Pakistan.

Furthermore, on the occasion, the Punjab Governor said that the biggest challenge for the country (and the world as a whole) was the deteriorating climate. To cater to this, Prime Minister Imran Khan took the initiatives of planting a billion trees under the project so-called tsunami billion tree projects.

Sweden Ambassador also added his remarks and said that Pakistan’s government is very eager to improve climate as the federal government has decided to host World Environment Day this year in Pakistan.

The electric vehicles policy would bring facilitation to the lives of the people of Pakistan. Under this agreement, Skywell Automobiles and Daewoo Express will introduce electric buses and other electric vehicles in Pakistan.

In signing ceremony, the ambassadors of People’s Republic of China, South Korea, Switzerland, and Japan were also present.
