According to the company, the Ti6Al4V Sapphire will be the first titanium-dedicated metal 3D printer from Velo3S used solely for these industries.

The additive manufacturing (AM) machine will be used to make parts such as cube satellites, hypersonics and turbine engines for aerospace OEMs, including Lockheed, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, General Dynamics, and Raytheon.

‘Our customers require maximum performance of their aerospace-related systems and, together with Velo3D, we can redefine what is possible in manufacturing through advanced AM technology,’ said Gary Vaillancourt, vice president at Primus.
