Hiut Denim Treated With Polygiene’s Stay Fresh Technologies, A Duo Of Formulas That Help Keep Jeans Fresh For Longer With Fewer At-Home Washes. A new jean by Hiut Denim is tailor-made for commuters. The small-batch denim brand from Wales recently bowed the A-B commuter jean, a men’s classic five-pocket stretch jean treated with Polygiene’s Stays Fresh technologies, a duo of formulas that help keep jeans fresh for longer with fewer at-home washes.

The combination provides “full coverage” odor-free and sustainable solutions for both odor-causing bacteria and odors coming from the surroundings, like a restaurant or smoke. Polygiene’s patented OdorCrunch technology, which consists of filtered river water and modified silica sand particles, breaks down odors and permanently eliminates it from fabric, while the silver chloride-based BioStatic technology stops the growth of odor-causing bacteria in the material.

Both technologies from the Swedish chemicals company are applied at the finishing stage of production. “This is a small up-and-coming brand that has set a very challenging goal—to make the best jeans and make them last as long as possible,” said Ulrika Björk, Polygiene CEO. “We are happy to team up with them and see this as a long-term partnership that surely will get attention in the industry.”

Stays Fresh reinforces Hiut Denim’s mission to promote the responsible aftercare of jeans. Through its No Wash Club, the company encourages people to try and go as long as they can without washing their jeans. “The enemy is indeed the washing machine,” the company states.

Hiut Denim co-founder Clare Hieatt said the company is looking to introduce the technologies to other products. “We want to be as low impact as possible, and producing a stretch jean comes with impact,” she said. “To help reduce this and improve the product, we have chosen to work with Polygiene. Their technology helps the customer wear more, wash less.”

Made with Candiani Denim fabric, the slim tapered jean is tricked out with other commuter-friendly qualities, including a reflective pattern on the hem and a higher back-rise to minimize gaping. The jean also has a modified coin pocket designed to fit Airpods. Just 150 pairs of the A-B Commuter exist. The jeans retails for approximately $310.
