Pakistan On Saturday Reported 12 More COVID-19 Related Deaths And 4,976 Fresh Positive Cases. It’s For The Consecutive 5 Days That The Country Has Reported More Than 100 Deaths. With New Fatalities Reported Nationwide Death Toll Has Surged To 16,094. Most of the fatalities were reported in Punjab alone in the past 24 hours, with 62 deaths. Meanwhile In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reported most coronavirus cases in a single day, with 1,000 new cases.

According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), as many as 65,279 tests were conducted during the last 24 hours, increasing the total tests conducted so far to 1,107,253. While 4,149 patients are stated to be in critical condition. Furthermore, 4,181 people have recovered from the virus. According to NCOC, the total number of active COVID-19 cases across the country was reported to be 79,108.

At least 98 more people contracted the novel coronavirus in Balochistan during the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 20,760 while one death was reported. During the past 24 hours in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), 167 positive cases and 5 more deaths.

Vaccination for citizens between 50-59 years of age will start from Wednesday: NCOC

Earlier in the day, the NCOC decided to vaccinate citizens aged 50-59 from next week. NCOC chief, federal minister Asad Umar in a tweet announced that the “Decision taken in today’s NCOC meeting to start vaccination of people in the age group of 50 to 59 from Wednesday the 21st of April. Would once again encourage everyone to register for the vaccination.”
