Calgary Canada and parts of central Alberta were under a severe thunderstorm warning on Sunday afternoon.

The storm was downgraded to a watch before 6 p.m., after much of the city’s northwest was hit with hail and heavy rain.
torms were developing throughout central and southern Alberta on Sunday afternoon, and were expected to move northeast throughout the evening.
Some areas, including Red Deer and Clearwater County, were expected to get up to 70 mm of rainfall. The heavy rain is expected to taper off on Monday afternoon into the evening.
“Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors,” the agency warned.
