Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has introduced the ‘Carpooling’ initiative to facilitate its employees with an aim to pursue a safe and affordable commute service.

PITB introduces ‘Carpooling’ initiative to Facilitate it's Employees

Initiated by PITB HR Wing, the employees can avail the facility through PITB Employee Self Service (ESS) Mobile Application for a secure and hassle-free travel experience from home to work and back. If an employee wishes to use the ‘Carpool’ service, he/she can access it through PITB’s ESS Mobile Application. Select the ‘Help Buddy’ icon from the ESS Mobile App dashboard. It will lead to five different facilities to be launched in near future. Tap on the ‘Carpool’ icon, it will lead to all the available ride options to choose from. The employees can also search their pickup and drop-off location from the search bar to further narrow down the ride options according to their respective area.

After selecting the ride, the details, i.e; destination, route plan and contact of the person sharing the ride can be verified. Through this initiative, the employees can travel with their colleagues, mutually decide on the ride fair and even choose if they want to travel with male or female colleagues. For employees with personal vehicles to travel to and from work, they can simply add ride details on the ESS Mobile Application for their colleagues to choose from. This environment friendly initiative will reduce environmental pollution while saving petrol and time.
