Deworming campaign, A three-day campaign to deworm around 1.3 million children would commence in the Rawalpindi district from November 1, said Additional Deputy Commissioner Headquarters Marzia Saleem.
She chaired a meeting on Thursday to review the arrangements. She said children between 5 to 14 years would be given free of cost deworming tablets and it would take place on November 1, 2 and 4. She added that the drive would help overcome malnutrition and abdominal infections among the children. Deworming campaign, Saleem said the Punjab government had provided free of cost Mebendazole 500 mg, which would also be given to children working at different places besides those studying in seminaries and schools. Meanwhile, one more coronavirus case was reported from the Rawalpindi Cantonment area during the last 24 hours, raising the district’s tally of confirmed cases to 47,671. As per the latest data released by the District Health Authority here Thursday, the infected cases included 44,046 from Rawalpindi and 3,625 from other districts. Presently, 11 confirmed patients were quarantined at homes, and no one was admitted to any district’s health facility. The report stated that 7,006,011 people, including 44,790 health workers, had jabbed themselves against the lethal Coronavirus (COVID-19) across the district since the vaccination administering drive launched on March 10, 2021.
