Steps Underway To Legalise Aesthetic Health Centres in KPK

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Standing Committee on Health Chairperson MPA on Monday said that steps were underway to legalise all the aesthetic health centres in the province to prevent diseases that were frequently caused due to illegal and substandard healthcare units.

Presiding over a meeting, she said responsibilities had been assigned to the law and industries departments to brief the legislators on consumer products.

She thanked MPA Shagufta Malik for raising her voice on the floor of the house and stressed regular monitoring of all the aesthetic centres, including beauty centres, parlors and hair transplant centres by the provincial health department.

Ms Ismail directed the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and the Peshawar deputy commissioner to organise inspections of these centres by the members of the standing committee.

Aesthetic medicine is a broad term for specialties that focus on altering cosmetic appearance through the treatment of conditions including scars, skin laxity, wrinkles, moles, liver spots, excess fat, cellulite, unwanted hair, skin discoloration, and spider veins. Aesthetic Medicine Specialists specialize in procedures and medicine to improve the physical appearance using minimally invasive procedures.

Aesthetic clinics provide personalized treatments and products catered to the needs and wants of customers. They also have experienced staff, who specialize in customer care and satisfaction. How we look is tied directly to how we feel and our sense of self-value and confidence.

There is a growing awareness internationally of the need to create functionally efficient and human centered healthcare environments. We have to take a step towards aesthetic health care environments in order to meet the new requirements.

An aesthetic and supportive healthcare environment enhances people’s capability to better cope with stress. The perception of the healthcare environment is described from a patient-centered perspective. Patients express that the healthcare environment is important for interaction improvements between relatives and healthcare providers.
