Do cell phones cause cancer?

A cell phone can make life easier in many ways, but using a cell phone can raise health risk, that raises the question that do cell phones cause cancer. Researcher have been studying that since more and more people started using cell phones since 1990s.

People are making more calls every day, and these calls last longer. These are a number of the explanations people worry that cell phones could be bad or dangerous to their health.

Mobile phones work by transmitting and receiving frequency microwave radiation. The frequency radiated by mobile phones is stronger than FM radio signal which cause cancer. Mobile phones have large area and their major function is communication from one person to another, from one location to another.

This frequency includes x-rays, radon, and cosmic rays is high frequency and high energy. These energies from ionizing radiation can damage DNA. DNA damage can cause changes to genes that may increase the risk of cancer.

Let’s have a look at a very common concern that do cell phones cause cancer:

Mobile phones contain a handset which include printed circuit board, liquid crystal display, casing, a battery and a charger.

The printed circuit board (PCB) is made mostly of copper and is holding to the board with protective coating and epoxy resins and generally coated with gold plating other valuable metals and harmful substances in the PCB are arsenic, cadmium, lead nickel, palladium, silver and zinc that causes the higher risk of cancer.

The lead and brominates flame retardants have the highest environmental impact due to their levels of toxicity and persistence within the environment.

Liquid crystal display (LCD) contains liquid crystal which are inserted between layers of glass for brightness with transistors for an electric charge. These liquid crystalline substances can contain toxic substances such as mercury.

Mobile phones batteries can contribute significantly to a device environmental impact. Rechargeable battery generates less waste than single use batteries. They also contain toxic substances such as nickel, zinc, copper and cadmium which can cause exposure to the environment. Different trash models of phones, promoting significantly to the waste generated.

Other components include Antennas, speakers, microphones, keypads, and Accessories. These components are although small in size, but they contain heavy metals and hazardous materials which are hazardous to the environment and cause the risk of cancer.

Mobile phones work by transmitting and receiving frequency microwave radiation, which is extremely dangerous and detrimental to human health. The radio frequency emitted by mobile phones are stronger than an FM radio signal but just one-billionth the intensity of an X-ray, which are known on chance to cause cancer. That’s why it is hard to confirm that do cell phones cause cancer.

Some expert agencies opined this to:

The FDA says that neither research results nor public health statistics have clearly shown that normal use of cellphones raises the risk of cancer.

The International Agency for Research on Cancer says the radiation from cell phones is “possibly” a cancer-causing substance.

Cell phone could raise your risk of cancer, there are ways you could be able to reduce radiation:
Limit your time on the phone.
When making calls, always use the speaker, headset, or hands-free device in its place of holding the phone to your head.
It is better to text instead of call.
