PK-Turk To Strengthen Cooperation For Skilled Vocational Training

A high-level delegation led by Turkey’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr. Mehmet Paçac, met with the Federal Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training in Islamabad on Thursday. According to the Minister, the two countries have cultural, linguistic, and people-to-people affection for one another. The Minister welcomed the exchange of teachers and students as a means of strengthening mutual cooperation, particularly in the field of Skilled Vocational Training.

He stated that both countries can benefit from each other’s experience. He recognized and praised the two countries’ long-standing brotherly relationship. Furthermore, he stated that there is significant potential for cooperation between the two countries. He discussed the exchange of expertise and knowledge in the field of Skilled Vocational and Technical Training.

He stated that Pakistan will increase scholarships for students to attend universities in Turkey in order to foster people-to-people love and cooperation. According to the Ambassador, Turks have strong ties to Pakistan. Minister believes that collaboration between universities and technical institutions is the way forward. He briefed the Minister on the numerous ongoing projects of the Turkish government under the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA).

The projects address a wide range of socioeconomic issues. According to him, TIKA completed 20 such projects in 2022 alone. The Minister was briefed on various ongoing projects, including the establishment of an incubation centre at QAU, the establishment of an ultrasound ward, and the solarization of DHQ at D.I. Khan.

Establishment of a fashion design and culture centre in the United Kingdom Upgrading Thalassemia patients’ medical equipment in various hospitals, establishing mobile health units in rural Sindh and Balochistan and numerous primary and secondary schools with over 13,000 students enrolled. Both delegations agreed to revive the Pak Turk Mobility Grant Program, which will boost teacher exchange between the two countries. In addition, the construction of the NSU Hospitality Center will take place.

The Minister stated that vocational training is the future of Pakistan’s population. He claims that it gives people the best chance of finding work. He stated that Pakistan and Turkey should exchange teachers and students through NAVTTC in order to benefit from each other’s expertise. The minister lauded the current government’s efforts to modernise Pakistan’s education system.

The Minister thanked the ambassador and emphasised the two countries’ cordial and friendly relations. He stated that the two countries share history and literature. He stated that the two people are friendly. He stated that the two countries’ mutual relationship should be improved and fine-tuned.
