The portal, developed in collaboration with Pak Weather, Karachi Weather Updates, and Linked Things, aims to protect people and property by providing advanced weather forecasting and monitoring capabilities.

The Smart Weather Portal was launched with a ceremony in Karachi. A number of notable figures attended the event, which was held at a local hotel, including the country’s former chief meteorologist Tauseef Alam, as well as meteorologists Owais Haider, Faizan Khan, Sofia Hasnain, Najaf Haider, Malik Mudassar, Ansar Hashmi, Muhammad Haseeb, Naila Zaryab, and Syed Zeeshan.

The Smart Weather Portal was praised by attendees at the launch event, who stated that the importance and practicality of meteorology and environmental science have grown in the face of climate change.

They observed that weather monitoring has become an essential part of business and daily life. They are confident that the Smart Weather Portal will be a valuable asset for Pakistan, particularly Karachi.

Over 20 air quality monitors have been installed and activated throughout Karachi as part of the Smart Weather Portal. These devices will aid in monitoring the city’s air quality.

Furthermore, 16 modern weather stations have been installed throughout Karachi. Thousands of similar devices are expected to be deployed across the country in the near future. These advanced technologies will help to address climate change and reduce the risk of natural disasters, ultimately protecting citizens’ lives and property.
