The Punjab Chief Minister stated that using environment friendly hybrid buses would reduce pollution and smog while providing passengers with a cheap and high-quality transportation system.

He also stated that special bus stops for female commuters would be established in Lahore. He made these remarks while speaking at the 21st meeting of the Punjab Mass Transit Authority (PMA), which was held on Monday at the Punjab Chief Minister’s office. The PMA Managing Director provided an update on the procurement of new buses.

The chief minister stated that new buses would have separate seats for women, the blind, and people with disabilities, who would be given seats near the bus entrance. He added that using environment friendly hybrid buses would reduce pollution and smog while providing passengers with a low-cost, high-quality transportation system.

The CM directed that the procurement of environment friendly buses be expedited and that a timetable for implementing the decisions be established. He concluded that the process should be completed as soon as possible, and a report should be submitted while necessary issues are resolved.

The meeting was attended by CM Muhammad Khan Bhatti’s principal secretary, authority members, and MPAs such as Col (R) Ghazanfar Abbas Shah, Khadija Umar, Shamim Aftab, Khawar Hayat, Ghazala Farid, secretary transport, chairman P&D, secretary finance, secretary PMA, and others.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Punjab has congratulated the cabinet committee on law and order, the police, the administration, and other law enforcement agencies on the best security arrangements for Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s birth anniversary and Christmas.

The CM stated in a statement issued on Monday that line departments deserve recognition for their role in protecting people’s lives and property.
