Policy formulation in education refers to the process of creating guidelines, rules, and procedures for educational institutions and programs. This process involves research, analysis, and consultation with stakeholders to identify needs and goals, and to develop strategies for achieving them.

Policy formulation may involve decisions related to curriculum, funding, teacher training, student assessment, and other aspects of education. It can be done at the federal, state, or local level, and may involve input from educators, policymakers, parents, and community members. The ultimate goal of policy formulation in education is to improve the quality and accessibility of education for all students.
