Pang Chunxue, the Charge d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy emphasized the need for friendship between China and Pakistan to be passed down through the generations.
Pang Chunxue, the Charge d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, stated on Wednesday that “We’re here for a ceremony marking the transfer of seeds from Pakistani medicinal plants that spent six months orbiting in the Chinese space station.”
She further stated that “In order to conduct a scientific experiment, the Shenzhou XIV manned spacecraft was launched into orbit in June 2022. It safely touched down on Earth last December. Pakistani plants have never before been in space.”
Pang Chunxue said that cooperation in science and technology (S&T) was a significant aspect of China and Pakistan’s bilateral relations and that the two countries had jointly funded more than 475 research projects in the fields of agriculture, aerospace, and chemical industry.
She noted that significant progress had been made since the two nations’ 1976 intergovernmental S&T cooperation agreement was signed during a ceremony held here to commemorate China-Pakistan space science and technology cooperation.
“The experiment of Pakistani Plants in space will undoubtedly go down in the annals of friendship between China and Pakistan and serve as a milestone for S&T collaboration.” Pang Chunxue added that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor also included a framework for bilateral S&T cooperation, which will undoubtedly give CPEC strong support as it grows in quality and sustainably.
Additionally, both nations have funded numerous projects in the areas of managing technology, biotechnology, computer science, environment, energy, meteorology, and geology, as well as protecting water resources.
China was committed to open, inclusive, and shared global S&T cooperation. One of humanity’s common causes has been space exploration. She continued by saying that China is adamant about conducting space exploration cooperation on the basis of equality, reciprocal benefit, peaceful use, and inclusive development.
The charge d’affaires also expressed gratitude to the scientists for working together. She also expressed her gratitude to the ambassadors and representatives of the COMSTECH member countries who joined us to witness this momentous occasion, as well as to the officials of the Pakistani Ministry of Science and Technology, COMSTECH, and the Pakistan Science Foundation for their contributions.
The Charge d’affaires of the Chinese Embassy also emphasized that Chinese President Xi Jinping stated three months ago that China will further deepen synergy between its development strategies and those of Pakistan and vigorously promote cooperation in areas like agriculture, science and technology, and people’s livelihood. This was said during a meeting with Prime Minister in Beijing.
