UoG Hosts Intl' Conference On Energy, Power, Control And Computing

The University of Gujrat’s (UoG) Hafiz Hayat Campus hosted the opening of a two-day international conference on “Energy, Power, Environment, Control, and Computing” the other day.

The conference was put together by the Faculty of Engineering and Technology with the goal of advancing science and technology in Pakistan through high-level research and knowledge exchange for the discovery of environmentally friendly methods for the production and acquisition of sustainable energy and electricity by offering a common platform for the cooperation and support of experts and scholars.

Together with the University of Sialkot, the Gift University of Gujranwala is organising the conference.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Shabbar Atiq presided over the opening session.

Chairman of the Pakistan Engineering Council Eng. Najeeb Haroon was the chief guest at the opening session, and guests of honour included Gift University Rector Prof. Dr. Shahid Qureshi, Dean of the University of Sialkot Dr. Arsalan Mehmood, Dr. Jan Kratzer, and Dr. Yuto Lim. As the host, Dean Prof. Dr. Shahid Iqbal was seated.

According to engineer Najeeb Haroon, Pakistan is experiencing severe issues on the economic front. By easing the burden of exports and advancing technology locally, economic growth is possible. Innovation contributes to higher product quality. Without advancing local industries, economic freedom is unthinkable.

He emphasised the need to modernise science, math, and engineering education and to support research, saying that doing so would help usher in an industrial revolution.

Engineering has a significant potential to contribute to Pakistan’s economic growth. Universities are primarily in charge of promoting academic and research activities, according to Prof. Dr. Shabbar Atiq. International conferences give professionals and researchers a forum for knowledge exchange.

The welfare and development of all people depend on our combined efforts in these areas. He expressed his hope that the conference on “Energy, Power, Environment, Control, and Computing” would significantly contribute to the generation of original ideas for a better future. In his welcome speech, Prof. Dr. Shahid Iqbal stated that it was the responsibility of engineering researchers to develop homegrown solutions to the issues facing the regional industries.

“The UoG is located in the heart of Pakistan’s Golden Industrial Triangle. Our main responsibility is to look for opportunities to develop and promote environmentally friendly sources of energy and electricity.
