The inaugural DisruptInvest Summit, a startup ecosystem event for corporates and investors, will be held on Thursday. Both parties bring their strengths and passion for the Malaysian startup ecosystem to the table, creating a fertile environment for connections to be made and opportunities to be created in the tech industry.

The DisruptInvest Summit brings together successful and innovative founders, investors, and corporate leaders to inspire and accelerate growth by sharing their insights and experiences. The inaugural DisruptInvest Summit draws prominent figures from Malaysia’s startup ecosystem.

“DisruptInvest Summit provides unparalleled networking opportunities and opportunities to meet and interact with the most innovative and driven individuals in the startup ecosystem. I see it as an opportunity to learn from and be inspired by these corporations and investors, as well as to make valuable connections that will lead to mutually beneficial collaborations,” “NEXEA’s Managing Director, Ben Lim (pictured), stated.

Joel Noeh, Sashie Kumar, and Gerardo Salandra are some of the founders in whom DisruptInvest has chosen to invest. Noeh recently exited his startup, Fave, to become an investor; Kumar sold his fintech to an ASX listed company for A$10 million; and Salandra relocated from Hong Kong to Kuala Lumpur, believing Malaysia’s first world infrastructure and quality talent offered him the best chance to succeed. Salandra raised a US$7 million Series A last September.

DisruptInvest Summit is a premier event that aims to connect corporations and investors, as well as the startup ecosystem, to support and grow the next wave of winners. It will feature panel discussions and sharing by experienced entrepreneurs and technocrats on a range of topics, including business development, strategy, innovation, government initiatives, equity crowd funding, and more.

The keynote speaker is Raymond Hor, Partner at Indonesia-based regional VC Kejora Capital, who will share an early update on how the funding scene in 2023 is shaping up for startups.

Top executives from Capital A (President Aireen Omar), CelcomDigi (Chief Innovation Officer T Kugan), and Hong Leong Bank (Chief Digital and Innovation Officer Shalesh Grover) will participate in the panel “Corporate Innovation: What’s Working, What’s Not” to share their experiences as corporate venturing becomes a prominent theme in corporate Malaysia.

“The DisruptInvest Summit will be the biggest tech entrepreneurship conference in Malaysia, giving attendees the chance to learn from the best in the business and forge important connections with innovators and business leaders. I think it will be a great chance for learning, networking, and developing in order to advance business, “Low Ziwei, a co-founder of Zcova, said.

“The DisruptInvest Summit brings together some of the top corporate and investor figures in Malaysia’s startup scene, offering insightful information about the state of the startup ecosystem at the moment. This will be a dynamic programme full of inspiration and zeal for the future of entrepreneurship, and it will be a wonderful chance to network with others in the field,” Kyan Liew, a ParkIn co-founder, said. The event will also receive support from a number of top corporations.

“The best venue for corporates and investors to work with Malaysia’s startup ecosystem is the DisruptInvest Summit, which brings entrepreneurs together to share ideas and look for opportunities for collaboration.
