AFT Partnerships To Empower Unbanked Pakistan's Population

Through its wallet Digitt+, Akhtar Fuiou Technologies (AFT) aspires to create a system that is financially accessible for the nation’s agricultural industry.

The leading digital payments platform of Telenor Microfinance Bank, easypaisa, has partnered with Akhtar Fuiou Technologies (AFT) under the aegis of its agri financial services platform Digitt+. A digital wallet called Digitt+ was created with the goal of enabling and empowering Pakistan’s unbanked population, starting with the agricultural industry.

The regulatory body has given the EMI permission to operate as a pilot. In its pilot phase the wallet will be marketed to diverse segments of the population. Holders of a Digitt+ wallet will be able to make a variety of payments using a robust Debit Card.

The easyPaisa partnership was chosen with the convenience of the customer in mind. Holders of the Digit+ wallet now have the option to use the easypaisa agent network as a point of contact for cash withdrawals and deposits. ”

AFT believes in providing agile financial solutions to its customers in the simplest way possible, and easypaisa is one such entity in the country that resonates with our own core values,” CEO Mr Ahmed Ali Saleemi was quoted as saying in a statement announcing the partnership. We are therefore excited about the potential benefits this partnership could provide for both of us.

The leader in digital payments in Pakistan, Easypaisa, is steadfastly pursuing the goal of a cashless and economically inclusive Pakistan. Farhan Hassan, the head of Wallet Business at easypaisa, said of the collaboration, “At the moment, Pakistan’s agriculture sector is the largest contributor to the country’s GDP and exports.

Additionally, it employs about 40% of the labour force. We can enable farmers in rural areas to expand exponentially by giving them easy access to financial opportunities. We are honoured to work with Digitt on this initiative, and through our 170,000 registered agents in Pakistan, we hope to simplify and secure the payment process for farmers.

The main incentive for each entity to work effectively together to advance the financial inclusion strategy is a straightforward and simple financial solution.
