For the purpose of awarding all HEC Scholarships and for admission to MS/MPhil & PHD programmes through a standardised, approachable, and transparent section process, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced the Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT) test via Education Testing Council.

In order to move forward with the final selection process, applicants who have already applied online for any MS/ MPhil & PhD admission or HEC scholarships via E-portal will take the test, according to HEC officials.

Additionally, candidates who wish to apply for scholarship programmes advertised in the future, such as those offered by Pakistani universities sponsored by the HEC, as well as candidates interested in obtaining admission to MS, MPhil, and Ph.D. programmes at public and private universities in Pakistan, are also eligible.

Probably on Sunday, May 28, 2023, is the test date. Through the websites www.hec.gov.pk and http://etc.hec.gov.pk, any changes to the test date will be announced.

A week prior to the test date, applicants who registered online with HEC were able to download their Roll Number Slip from http://etc.hec.gov.pk and their registered email address.

The test date, time, and location will also be sent via email or SMS to registered candidates. Candidates must enter valid email addresses or mobile numbers on their online application forms if they want to receive roll number slips.

On the test day, you will need to enter the testing centre with a printout of your roll number slip and your original CNIC. For registration, please visit the following link: http://etc.hec.gov.pk.

Complete your profile using the “My Profile” section, then submit your application using the “Higher Education Aptitude Test” links in the menu panel on the left-side bar of the online portal. Applications in SAVE or INCOMPLETE mode won’t be taken into consideration for the (HAT) Test; only applications that have been submitted will.

Higher Aptitude Test (HAT) candidates must pay PKR 2,000 for the test. The candidates’ Habib Bank Limited Account number is 1742 7900 1334 01, where they will deposit the required fee. Higher Education Commission, Account Title.

When registering for the test at http://etc.hec.gov.pk, download the bank fee challan. Only the ETC online registration portal offers the fee challan.

All applicants must upload their completed Fee Challans, duly stamped by an HBL branch, in order to submit their applications through the ETC online registration portal. The test fee is not transferable or refundable.

Taking a mobile or any calculating, recording, or imaging electronic device inside the test centre as well as uploading or sharing the images of question book is strictly prohibited and an offence liable to be punished as per the ETC rules. The Deadline for Online Registration is May 10, 2023.
