More than 61,000 medical students and future doctors have responded to more than 45 million questions on MedAngle.

Media outlets reported that the Pakistani company MedAngle, a pioneering platform for aspiring physicians, has been named to the 2023 Global Silicon Valley Elite 200 EdTech Company.

The only company from Pakistan to appear on the list is the edtech firm. Dr. Mohammad Azib, a graduate of the Dow University of Health Sciences, established the platform. He is the first full-stack technologist and physician in the nation.

Dr. Azib was also the first Pakistani to ever be accepted to the Transcend Fellowship in Silicon Valley. He was also admitted to the Stanford Graduate School of Business Seed Spark Program, the MIT-Harvard Medical School Global Healthcare Innovation Program, and the MIT-Harvard Medical School Global Healthcare Innovation Program.

It is the largest medical education platform in the history of Pakistan and the Middle East, with over 40,000 multiple-choice questions, clinical cases, and other content. More than 150 physicians, healthcare workers, and top medical students from Pakistan and the Middle East make up MedAngle’s team.

With recent expansion into the UAE, the platform has scaled its technology from one school to more than 140 in two nations.

The startups were chosen for the annual ASU+GSV Summit, which brings together top thinkers committed to changing society and business in relation to learning and work.

The list is composed of the top pre-seed and seed startups in the Pre-K to Gray sector as determined by the GSV Cup semifinalists, also known as the Elite 200, who were chosen from a pool of international applicants.

The summit was launched in 2010 by a partnership between Global Silicon Valley (GSV) and Arizona State University (ASU). This year’s ASU+GSV Summit featured Sal Khan, the founder and CEO of the Khan Academy, as well as Sam Altman, the founder and CEO of OpenAI and ChatGPT, as speakers.

Bill Gates delivered the keynote address. Former US President Barack Obama, Richard Branson, Laurene Powell Jobs, Priscilla Chan, Jeff Weiner, Bill Nye, Howard Schultz, Reed Hastings, and Eric Yuan are just a few of the speakers who have gone before.
