The meeting heard that PWDs from all over Punjab could use the DPMIS to request online appointments with doctors and obtain disability certificates.

For the Department of Social Welfare and Baitul Maal, the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) created the Disabled Persons Management Information System (DPMIS) App, which has data on more than 156,000 Persons With Disabilities (PWDs).

The PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf announced this during a review meeting. The meeting heard that PWDs from all over Punjab could use the DPMIS to request online appointments with doctors and obtain disability certificates.

“With this initiative, the departmental visits of the Persons with Disabilities have reduced as well as NADRA verification for Special Identity Card is also being done online without wasting any time,” Chairman Faisal Yousaf said at this time.

It is important to note that the dashboard now displays information about people with disabilities, including gender, age, type of disability, and geographic distribution. Additionally, under this system, all 36 Darul Aman (DUA) and Modern Children’s Homes (MCH) in Punjab have been registered, and resident needs, arrangements, and movements have all been tracked.

The Model Children Homes (MCHs), Shelter Homes (Dar-ul-Aman), and Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) developed an app to register people with disabilities. This app has the ability to scan necessary documents with built-in cropping, giving various stakeholders quick access without using a desktop or laptop.

With the help of the DPMIS app, disabled people can improve their quality of life by applying online for medical appointments and Certificates of Disability. The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) is in charge of maintaining Punjab’s IT system and infrastructure. It has provided systems and solutions that have benefited the health, education, and law and order sectors.

Moreover, PITB’s enormous efforts to improve and transparently reform mobile governance have been recognised on a global scale. For instance, most recently, the World Bank President praised our reforms at the World Bank’s Daylight Dialogue 2014 in the Philippines.

Additionally, PITB works to strengthen the capacities of both professionals in the public and private sectors as well as students from all over Pakistan in order to encourage an entrepreneurial culture in the nation. PITB has laudably succeeded and has diligently pursued the goals and objectives for which it was established.
