The seventh edition of Women Tech Quest (WTQ) will take place physically in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad on June 17, 2023. Tickets are now available, and participants can purchase them to secure their place.
WTQ is a nationwide competition that was established in 2017 with the goal of promoting and rewarding women who excel in the field of technology. There are also inspiring speaker sessions and stimulating workshops where influential professional women share their insights to help other women advance.
The head of people and programmes for 10Pearls in EMEA, Syeda Sana Hussain, stated that this would be the seventh year in a row that Women Tech Quest had been a success. This event closely reflects our mission to empower women, expand the talent pool, and support the tech community. WTQ is our flagship initiative to inspire, empower, and champion women in tech as strong proponents of gender diversity.
Coding, testing, and design are the three categories in the competition. Participants in the coding competition must use any programming language to solve a series of problems that are presented to them.
While the Design Competition requires participants to complete a UI/UX challenge and their approach to user research, persona building, and user experience is judged, the Testing Competition gives competitors a set of objectives to test database and automation concepts.
For each stream, participants may register in the Professional or Student category. There will be a total of 18 winners, six from each city (two from each competition stream).
In addition to the Competition, WTQ will host motivational speaker sessions by prominent business figures like Meenah Tariq (Co-Founder and CEO, Metric), Sadia Khan (Fintech Entrepreneur), Humna Raza (Creative Director & Podcast Host, One8nine Media), Meighan Newhouse (SVP Transformation and Enablement, 10Pearls), Saba Kalsoom (Director of Ecosystem, Fasset), and Zartaj Ahmed (Director, PSSEC).
Mahlaqa Shaukat, CEO and Co-Founder of AimFit, will also present an interactive workshop/energizer session at the event with a focus on the health and wellness of women.
Top figures in technology and other fields have endorsed WTQ 2023 as the event of the year for tech women. This time, some well-known organisations are among our partners, including CaterpillHERs, Figma Community Lahore, GDG Kolachi, MLSA Karachi, Lahore & Islamabad, WomeninTechPK, Bytewise Ltd, Growelle Labs, and CodeGirls.
