STAFF REPORT LHR: The second batch of 32 researchers, faculty members and field professionals have recently completed a five-day training course on Reproductive Ultrasonography in Domestic Animals. The training was organised by the University of Veterinary and Animals Sciences, Lahore.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha chaired the concluding session of the training workshop and distributed certificates among the participants.

Dean Faculty of Life Sciences Business Management Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad, Dean Faculty Veterinary Science Prof Dr Muhammad Sarwar Khan and Department of Theriogenology Chairman Dr Mian Abdul Sattar were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor said that training programmes were necessary for skills development of professionals and the UVAS was equally focusing such training courses.

Meanwhile, a meeting of the Provincial Livestock and Dairy Development Forum (PLDDF) has recently been held at the university.

VC Dr Talat Naseer Pasha, Nestle Pakistan Chairman Syed Yawer Ali and PLDDB CEO Nabeel Arif co-chaired the meeting while officers from the LandDD Department Punjab, Punjab Agriculture Department and UVAS and representatives from the private sector attended.

The participants gave suggestions for the development of dairy sector. The VC also stressed on the use of media to create awareness among the rural population.
