33rd annual conference of AAOU 2019 starting in Lhr

With massive applaud across Asia, virtual university is proudly hosting the The 33rd Annual Conference of the Asian Association of Open Universities  (AAOU) 2019. The three days conference started today at pearl continental hotel, Lahore.

33rd annual conference of AAOU 2019 starting in LhrFederal minister for IT & Telecom, Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddique was the chief guest of the ceremony and Federal Secretary IT and Telecom Shoaib Siddiqui guest of honor of the ceremony.

Rector of Virtual University of Pakistan Naeem Tariq and President AAOU Prof Dr Melinda were part of the inaugural ceremony.

Speakers of the conference included scholars from Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indonesia, South Korea, Philippines, China, Vietnam, India, Burma, Malaysia, Japan, Iran and Maldives.

Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddique speaking on the occasion that “Its honor and pleasure for Pakistan to host such a big event”.

He further said “as the world change rapidly these days, several industries and professions could face challenges and thus needed adaptation as per contemporary trends.

The first day of AAOU 2019 conference gathered experts from academia, industry, regulatory bodies and public policy makers to finalize recommendations in synchrony with international practices aimed at facilitating rapid growth in fields of socio economic development and meeting sustainable development goals (SDGs).

Over 100 foreign scholars from 23 different countries are participating in the conference.

The conference was attended by More than 100 foreign delegates which gave a clear message that Pakistan is a safe country.

 The conference will continue for 3 days. President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi will attend the closing ceremony.
