MS IMAGINE CUPSTAFF REPORT KHI: Microsoft Pakistan in partnership with Nokia Pakistan has fcannounced the national winners of Imagine Cup 2013 Pakistan, the worlds most prestigious student technology competition.
The winning team developed a project Epic to detect falls and Accidents using Windows Phone Device. Its also capable to alert the authorities of such occurrence.
This year Imagine Cup presented university students with three competition categories that included a) World Citizenship: honours the software application with the greatest potential to make a positive contribution to the betterment of humanity, b) games: honors the best student games built on Microsoft platforms Windows 8, Windows Phone 8, Kinect for Windows Software Development Kit and Xbox Indie Games and c) innovation: honours apps that deliver dramatic, accessible innovations and advance the state of the art in major categories such as social networks, search, classifieds or online shopping.
“We need to make sure that students must be at the forefront of embracing and utilizing new technology, and through competitions like Imagine Cup we provide excellent opportunities for those students that have a passion for technology, entrepreneurial talent and leadership abilities,” said Amir Rao, Country Manager, Microsoft Pakistan.
The joint collaboration between Microsoft and Nokia is an effort to expand the existing ecosystem and compliment the changing mobile and PC consumption needs of the masses.
