STAFF REPORT LHR: The Pharmacy Council of Pakistan has recognized the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm-D) morning and evening programmes of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences UVAS, Lahore.


Earlier, a team of the Pharmacy Council had visited the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (IPS) of the UVAS, inspected the facilities available for the Pharm-D programme and submitted a report to the Council.


In a letter to the UVAS?s Institute of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Director Dr Farzana Chowdhary, the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan Secretary Naziruddin Ahsan said that the Council at a meeting had discussed the inspection team report on the IPS and decided to recognize the Pharm-D Programme of the UVAS.


?Kindly accept my felicitation on this recognition, which became possible with the efforts rendered by you and your colleagues in the Institute of Pharmaceutical Science,? wrote the Council Secretary to the IPS director.


The IPS has an independent double-storey building to house multimedia fitted specious lecture rooms, laboratories, an independent library, and is also sharing laboratories and other teaching facilities of other departments of the UVAS.


It may be mentioned here that the UVAS had started the Pharm-D programme after the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan had granted NoC for launching this degree programme at its premises.
