STAFF REPORT LHR:Canadian High Commissioner Greg Giokas has visited the UVAS Lahore and called on Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha.


On the occasion, the VC briefed the high commissioner on the academic, research and academic activities of the university.


He said that the university is closely working with the Livestock and Dairy Development Department Punjab and private sector for the development of livestock and allied sectors. He also said that since its inception as a university, the UVAS has played a key role in the development of livestock sector. He said that livestock sector contributes 55 per cent to agriculture GDP and 12 per cent to national GDP.


The VC also said that poultry is the most vibrant sector in Pakistan with an annual growth of 8-10 per cent.
