STAFF REPORT ISB: Pakistan and Netherlands have vast potential for collaboration in areas of agriculture and agricultural research and they should have a regular interaction to make progress in these areas.


Federal Minister for Ministry of National Food Security and Research, Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan, said this during a meeting with Ambassador of Netherlands, De Vink, who has recently called on him here.


On the occasion, the Dutch Ambassador apprised that next week a Dutch economic delegation led by Vice Minister for Trade Simon Smits would be visiting Pakistan to explore possibilities to enhance business ties between Pakistan and Netherlands, with an emphasis on water and agriculture.


In this regard, the visiting delegation will also call on the food minister to discuss possibilities of cooperation in the agriculture and food sector, with particular emphasis on dairy farming and horticulture.


During the meeting, Bosan assured of his ministrys full cooperation in further enhancing and cementing ties in agriculture sector between the two countries.


The two sides also emphasized upon enhancing collaborative research and sharing of experiences in different areas of agriculture.


The federal minister also appreciated efforts of Netherlands in providing technical assistance and training to agricultural scientists of Pakistan for ensuring food security in Pakistan.
