STAFF REPORT LHR: A 3-day international conference on Global Policy Dialogue on Higher Education Knowledge Parks has recently been held in Lahore. More than 150 foreign delegates belonging to renowned international universities participated in the conference organised by the Punjab government in collaboration with the British Council Pakistan.

Educationists from different public and private sector universities of Punjab, other stakeholders in education sector and students playing an active role in co-curricular activities of different educational institutions turned up to the event.

According to the spokesperson of the education department Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan presided over a meeting at Civil Secretariat Lahore on Monday to give a final shape to the arrangements of the conference.

The meeting delegated responsibilities for providing foolproof security to the delegates of the conference. It was decided that district administration will set up a control room for facilitating the participants of the conference.

The conference was inaugurated by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Penal discussion and technical sessions were also held on the occasion where the participants completely gave their inputs on the promoting the higher education.

A drama was also played at the Bukhari Auditorium of GC University Lahore for the delegates.

Provincial Minister for Education and Tourism Punjab Rana Mashhood Ahmed presided over all the activities during the technical sessions of the conference.
