STAFF REPORT ISB: The Prime Ministers National ICT Scholarship Programme awards fully funded 4-year undergraduate scholarships in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) related disciplines for talented students from rural/non-metropolitan areas of Pakistan.

This programme was initiated in year 2007. As many as 4,223 students have been awarded this wonderful scholarship up till year 2013. This year the registration forms were collected till June 28, 2014. A 20-day Foundation Training Program was also arranged from July 7, 2014 to July 27, 2014; for the students who were registered successfully and eligible to appear in the test.

After conclusion of the training sessions ICT announced the test date. Test was postponed two times due to law and situation in the country. Finally the ICT- Scholarship Award Test (SAT) successfully held on September 14, 2014. All successful students were called for the interviews and orientation sessions held from September 25 across the country. In Sindh, two sessions were conducted; first one at Sukkur- IBA on September 25th and other on September 27, 2014 at Isra University, Hyderabad. Students were allowed to have a parent/guardian with them at the time of interviews.

Jawad Azfar (Manager Monitoring, ICT RandD Fund, Islamabad, conducted the orientation session.

He thanked Utam Prem and his team for their contributions in making these sessions successful. From Sindh this year 104 students have qualified for this scholarship.
