STAFF REPORT ISB: National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) has prepared 21 more Curricula of Technical and Vocational Trades.

These trades include Computer Aided Design (CAD)/ Computer Assisted Manufacturing (CAM) Operator, Ceramics, Machinist, Auto Electrician, Building Electrician, Industrial Electrician, Plum-Plumber, Electrical, Electronic Assembler and Bio-Gas Technician and Supervisor.

The total number of so far developed curricula has now become 195 whereas 53 Competency Standards of Diploma of Associate Engineering, Contemporary and Traditional Trades have also been prepared.

According to DG Skills Standards and Curricula (SSandC) of NAVTTC Yahya Tajik, new Curricula and Competency Standards have been prepared to enhance skill standards in the field of Technical Education and Vocational Training.

These standards were completed under the TVET Reform Support Programme co-funded by the European Union, Netherland, Germany and Norway. German governments educational development agency GIZ is implementing partner with NAVTTC about TVET Reform Support Programme on behalf of the donor countries.

Executive Director NAVTTC Imtiaz Tajwar has said that preparation of new curricula for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is a right step towards promotion of skilling culture in Pakistan.

The basic purpose for preparation of new Curricula and Competency Standards is to provide talented skilled youth for internationally acceptable trained manpower. Therefore, maximum skilling means maximum human resource development which is a key to economic stability of the country, he added.
