STAFF REPORT ISB: The 3rd monthly brainstorming session to make Pakistan a Science Conscious country has recently been organized by the Pakistan Academy of Sciences (PAS) at the PAS headquarters in Islamabad.


The major objective of these events is to promote quality science education and research and development in the country by enhancing stakeholder awareness about the crucial role of science and technology in economic development and human wellbeing.


Speaking on the occasion, Secretary General PAS Dr. Zabta Shinwari said the Academy has rightly decided to encourage and motivate young scientists of the country to promote SandT.


In his remarks, Dr. Hamid Saleem, who is a Fellow of PAS, emphasized for the need and benefits of mutual interaction and dialogue of experienced and young scientists for promotion of SandT in the country.


Senior scientists, university professors, decision makers, heads of academic and scientific organizations and postgraduate students in various sciences attended the meeting.


The QAU graduate students presented a skit on Mentor-Mantee Relation to express their concerns about the current state of affairs at the institutions of higher learning and their desire for improvement of the situation in an articulate manner.


Dr. Fazeel Khan of Institute of Space Technology, presented a scientific talk on “Our Universe: Present, Past and Future”.


PAS President Dr. Anwar Nasim, shared his vision and some intended initiatives of the Academy for promotion of science in the country.
