STAFF REPORT ISB: Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) and Embassy of France in Pakistan have explored avenues of cooperation in joint research projects to in order to strengthen science and technology base in Pakistan.


Alban Schwerer, Scientific and Higher Education Attache, Embassy of France, called on PSF Chairman Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf in Islamabad.


Dr. Mirza Habib Ali, PSF Focal Person for International Linkages, also attended the meeting which was held to identify priorities and common interests of Pakistan and France in the field of science.


During the meeting, Dr. Ashraf informed Schwerer that the scope of PSF for international collaboration is very broad as the Foundation works for development and promotion of science in schools right from primary to higher secondary level, higher education institutions as well as RandD organizations.


Both the sides discussed collaboration in joint research projects and post-doctorate scholarship programmes.


Dr. Ashraf sought the France Embassys cooperation in the PSFs programme to revamp science labs in rural area schools. He said PSF is focusing on bridging the missing link of science in primary to higher education.


They also discussed announcing calls for research proposals and post-doctorate scholarship programmes through the platform of PSF so that the information may reach to maximum people.
